GOMMERN is a small town in the south of the district of Jerichow and is extremely close to the state capital of Magdeburg (20km). The town is situated between Westfläming and the conservation area of the „mid - Elbe“.  The Ehle, a rivulet of Fläming origin, flows through the locality. In the south and the west dunes have formed, which support the "Gommern heath" pine forests. The numerous quarry lakes of Gommern are among the most popular recreational areas. The main streets the B 184 and the B 246 lie directly on Gommern. The connection to the A 2 Hanover – Berlin motorway is just 15km away. The exit to the A 14 Halle – Magdeburg motorway is only 12km away.  Furthermore, accessibility to the rail network (Magdeburg-Dessau-Leipzig) is also available.
